By pointing out the Thing, the word distinguishes and makes distinctions (this-Thing-uish).
As the “murder of the Thing” (Hegel) it also extinguishes and makes extinctions (ex-Thing-uish).
The signifier is a signifireman and the fire it fights is life.
Life is fire (lifire): it’s jouissance, it’s more entropy than energy.
It is lifire who animates the signifirefight so its extinguishing is the self-emptying of spirit (kenosis).
Lifire animates its own extinction through the signifirefight.
