Three and a half months after ACF Voie Domitienne’s L’IA, ça vous parle?, Lionel Broye has launched a monthly press review on psychoanalysis and AI, opening its first issue with the Žižek–Fidaner exchange. I also pointed him to our two recent pieces on wild robotherapy.

Broye comes to this from an unusually concrete technological background: media archaeology, the reconstruction of obsolete digital works—including work on an Amiga 500+—and, more recently at ESAD Orléans, having students design an adventure game for Minitel terminals connected through a Raspberry Pi-based system.

Thanks for launching this newsletter for the emerging conversation between psychoanalysis and AI. For Broye, AI is a small step from Orléans: unlike much of the psychoanalytic milieu, the technological ground is already familiar.

P.S. The Lacan portrait heading the newsletter is not just decorative ASCII art. Broye has developed Typewriter Art Studio, a program that converts images into typewriter code, inspired by old typewriter mystery games. The image is therefore also continuous with his technological practice: Lacan rendered through a machine-readable and machine-producible writing procedure.

P.S. 2. I didn’t keep my own Amiga. I’m glad someone is preserving them.
